What is white glove delivery?
The delivery service we offer you is a "white glove" delivery service. That is to say, our team delivers your furniture to your home directly by appointment. Our delivery service includes unpacking and assembling your order in the room of your choice. Delivery is carried out professionally and safely. Before leaving, the delivery people ensure that the room in which the furniture was assembled is as clean as it was before arriving and that none of your belongings have been damaged.
How White Glove Delivery Works
For white glove deliveries, once your order is ready for delivery, you will be contacted by email so that we can make a delivery arrangement with you in the coming days/weeks. To do this, we will offer you the next day on which we plan to deliver in your area. Once you have confirmed your availability on this day, we will reserve it and we will contact you a few days before your delivery to confirm your time slot (3 hours) during which you will have to make sure to be on site at the time of delivery.
Pick up at the workshop
The "shop pick-up" option is available for orders of larger pieces of furniture only. Please note that our workshop is located in Terrebonne and that the order pick-up period is on Tuesdays between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and that we operate by appointment only. If you choose the shop pick-up option, a fee of $50 plus taxes applies. This fee will be used to cover the packaging of your furniture in moving blankets.

Your responsibility as a customer, the day of delivery:
- You must be on site: You are required to be on site at the time of delivery so that you can confirm that the furniture delivered meets your quality expectations and that it does not have any manufacturing defects. However, if you cannot be on site, a person aged 18 or over must be there to check the condition of the furniture delivered and sign that the furniture received and assembled was in good condition.
- 3-hour appointment: Gone are the days when we asked you to take a weekday off to deliver a piece of furniture! With us, you select the day and time that suits you and we will be there! Obviously, you must give us an hour and a half before and after to arrive (3-hour time slot), in order to cover unforeseen events. You will have to be on site at the time of delivery to receive the delivery person, as well as for the entire duration of the assembly of the furniture, otherwise a penalty of $100 will be charged to you. Conversely, if we are unable to respect our commitment and arrive late, we will reimburse you for the delivery costs that we will have previously charged you.
- Make space for the delivery person: It is your responsibility to ensure that the delivery person will have enough space to deliver the furniture properly. When we say "properly" we mean that you are responsible for ensuring that the entire path through which the delivery person will have to pass with the furniture in hand is clear (from the moment the delivery person takes the furniture out of the truck, to the path they will have to take, to the room in which the furniture will be assembled). If you are able to do so, it would be ideal to ensure that the truck can park as close to the front door as possible.
- Provide us with relevant information upon delivery: If the delivery of the furniture requires special attention for the delivery person, it is your duty to notify us 24 hours before the pre-determined delivery time. Special attention for the delivery person could be for example: non-functional elevator, accommodation on the third floor, going through the back, etc. If a problem occurs at the time of delivery in relation to relevant information not mentioned, a penalty of $100 will be charged to you.
- Allow for assembly time: Please allow about an hour (often less, but in case it takes longer) to allow us to properly assemble your furniture and get to know you!
- Change or cancellation of delivery: We understand that changes of plans happen more often than not. In this case, we ask that you notify us at least 48 hours in advance, otherwise $100 will be charged to postpone the delivery to a later date.
If you've arrived on this page, it's probably because you're considering acquiring beautiful solid wood furniture or because you already own some and want to preserve them for years to come. Good news: we're here to provide you with all the necessary tips to keep your furniture in excellent condition for as long as possible. Enjoy reading!
Wood Furniture Maintenance and Precautions to Take
Solid wood, although durable and robust, is a living and organic material that requires special care and attention to preserve its natural beauty and longevity. Here are our recommendations for maintaining and protecting your furniture on a daily basis:
What to do:
- Clean the surface of the table with a damp cloth, well-wrung out. If needed, add a small drop of mild soap (such as gentle dish soap) diluted with a little water. Wipe away any excess water with a clean, dry cloth.
- Quickly wipe up any spilled liquid to prevent the wood from absorbing it.
- Add a tablecloth, placemats, or a table runner before placing functional or decorative objects on it.
- Use a trivet before placing a hot dish on the table and a coaster before setting down a glass, whether it's cold or hot.
- Place felt pads under heavy or decorative items to prevent scratches.
- Protect the surface of the table with a waterproof layer before engaging in any activities that could stain or damage it (writing, painting, modeling clay, crafts, etc.).
What not to do:
- Never clean the surface of the furniture with abrasive or chemical cleaners.
- Do not place a hot, oily, greasy, wet, or damp dish or container directly on the table's surface.
- Do not place any object or substance directly on the furniture without using a tablecloth, placemat, or another protective layer.
- Avoid leaving decorative objects in the same spot all the time, especially in the first months after delivery and if your furniture is exposed to direct sunlight.
PRECAUTIONS
Being a natural and living material, wood continues to interact with its environment throughout its life, which is why there are a few specifics to be aware of to avoid unpleasant surprises such as cracks, scratches, marks, stains, or others. Here are some precautions to take in order to keep your wood furniture in good condition for as long as possible and avoid unwanted inconveniences:
- Maintain an ambient humidity level between 45% and 60%, measured with a hygrometer. During the winter months or periods of intense cold, when our heating systems dry out the air, compensate with a humidifier to counteract the dryness caused by heating. Just like our skin can dry out and crack, wood reacts similarly under these conditions.
- Avoid close heat sources (such as radiators, fireplaces, or stoves) near your solid wood furniture.
- Do not place your furniture too close to a window exposed to sunlight to prevent UV rays from altering the natural color of the wood over time.
These tips will help preserve the appearance and quality of your solid wood furniture for years to come. Wood is a noble material that tells a story and evolves with its environment. By taking care of it, you contribute to its longevity.
